is there any way to get roland synths into a korg m50?
Re: is there any way??
I was going to respond with a wise-ass comment, but I'll do the mature thing and ask you what, exactly, you mean by this question.tek wrote:is there any way to get roland synths into a korg m50?

You can't put Triton sounds into your M50. The M50 can only load patches from itself or the M3 at the moment (there are a few other Korg keyboards that aren't released yet that use the same synth engine as the M50 and M3 and presumably could use the same PCG format).
Seriously though, think about what you're asking. You're talking about presets, not sounds, which are not recorded audio. A preset for a program is a list of synth settings: which oscillators to use, what envelopes they should have, which effects are in use. Some presets also have associated samples (the actual audio; many presets just use the samples that are already onboard a particular keyboard). It doesn't make any sense to take a bunch of instructions for a particular sound on a Roland keyboard and give that to a Korg keyboard. Since the synths are designed in different ways, the Korg won't recognize the Roland preset, and also because it's a different synth engine inside the M50 as compared to any Triton-class keyboard, the M50 can't recognize presets from a Triton either.
In the case of the M50, there is no sampling, so the samples that are already loaded into the keyboard are all you'll ever get, and as I've said, you can't load presets from other keyboards except the M3.

This is what we get when Korg puts a Workstation is such a low price that any kid still playing a toy piano can get it and plan to use it like a Lego.
Can't imagine the kind of questions we are going to get once the microSTATION and PS60 hit the shelves

Then they will try to put NI Reaktor patches in it...or maybe use Waves Plugins for mixing the sounds...
