Two KAOSSILATOR PRO videos

Post by RichF »

I'm cross-posting this to the "Latest News" section as well... We've just uploaded two new videos detailing some of the functions in the upcoming KAOSSILATOR PRO:

KOPro vs. KP3 comparison:

Recording external audio:

Hope you enjoy them. :)

Nice vids Rich.

Everytime I see the MKXL being pushed instead of the R3, I get acid reflux and upchuck a bit.

I know you've used the R3 before. Here's proof:

So who does the R3 have to .... to get a part in a demo, now and then? :)

it is pleasing to see the arpegiator shows on the display as .25. 333. .5 . 666. that would probably make it easier to conrol.

all the videos i have seen so far have shown people using it like a crossfader mad busy.. seems like a more sensible idea to get accurtate patterns is to move it slow and deliberatly

Am I wrong to have understood that the internal sounds can still be used when the record button is pressed and a bank is armed and it's not only the external audio that can be recorded then?

I'm sure I've seen that being done (especially when the arpeggiator is being used and abused by the Japanese) in a video or two...

There are three ways to record (according to the manual):
1) The original kaossilator way, records the internal audio only
2) Rec --> Loop bank, records both internal and external audio
3) Holding loop button and then holding down rec, records external audio (and I quess it also records internal audio, at least while holding down the loop bank button)

Thank you for clearing that up, bluemind. :)

Really looking forward to getting my hands on one. Just to find enough pennies...

Errr thanks, that was/is me! But I agree with you, I would even go to say it was pretty w@nk!

I had no idea what did what back then, even now it still takes me a while to figure out which sounds to use..

I do hope that one day I can justify the output the unit can produce, I'll keep beavering away tho' :)

Hey, everybody has to start somewhere and it is really nice that you share what you do. Some people might be jealous that YOU got one of the first devices, but nobody HAS to watch the videos, so just keep on going

Ahhh I guess, but in my defense, I did pay for the unit on the 2nd Feb '010.

I am surprised at the (next to no) content popping up on Youtube!

Some guy posted some advice up for me, so I'm going to try and put what he says into practise, it is a big learning curve, especially since I've never played any instruments before, only a little guitar.

cheers

*edit*

I got my unit from decks.co.uk and last time I checked they had stock.

Hey samartin, since you have the KPro maybe you can answer this question. When you record a phrase on one of the banks, can you fiddle the program volume knob as a sort of cheap ADSR envelope? Like start the volume at 0 and raise it through a couple of bars and have that become part of the loop? I don't mean after the loop has been recorded but rather on the live program as it is being played/recorded. Thanks if you could confirm that!
