2 months after my PA2X warranty expires, pitch bender broken

Post by DjStiky »

Hey guys,

I just want to rant my frustration.
The warranty on my PA2X expired 2 months ago and now my pitchbender remains at -4 when i move it to the left and let go.
I am REALLY mad :(
I already had the burnt LED problem, and my INTRO 1 button not working.

What a disgrace...

Hi DjStiky

I have the exact same problem with the pitchbender except mine's on the + side, so it's obviously a weakness. My warranty hasn't expired as it's still less than a year old, but as I gig every week I can't afford to be without the keyboard to get it fixed. It's not a function that I use much so I'll work around it. But it points to poor quality components which at this price range is unacceptable.

I share your frustration.

Regards

Bruce

I wonder what my local music store is going to charge me for this.

i'm seriously doubting if i should upgrade to the next flagship korg arranger when it comes out.

I seriously doubt there will be one, not in the present format anyway ;)

It seems that the big 3 are having a competition on who is going to use cheaper components! What happened to the good old days when keyboards were built like tanks and designed for live use!

Exactly!

I just don't think that it has anything to do with where it is made, as long as the quality of components is not sacrificed. But hey, when you can save on labor and components you rake in doubble profits. And how about those cheesey keybeds? What happened to the beautiful Fatar ones?
Last time I checked, we still pay premium prices way above the cost of top workstations.
I am complaining about all 3 manufacturers, not just Korg.

P.S. in regards to the Pitch Bender, I had success with cleaning mine on the Triton LE. If you are somewhat technical, open the board up and clean it! This should work as long as there is no physical damage, and I don't think there is anything different on the 2x as opposed to the Triton's.

Here is a solution costing 40 Euros:

The replacement joystick from Thomann is **actually** for the Pa2x and Pa800 and not the Pa1x as per the confusing link:

http://www.thomann.de/gr/korg_joystick_ ... 1x_pro.htm

I can provide dis assembly and fitting instructions if you email me. I cannot publish them on the forum.

Best regards,
Rob

The KORG JOYSTICK is the WORST! and they even put one on the OASYS, now the M3 that's a different animal great job on that joystick, by the way the joystick would probably not be on the warranty and would be a regular charge, although easy to install talking from experience after much use I heard stories of them breaking within a month and I bought a new one and always have problems with it.

Mind you, several people with "faulty" joysticks actually caused the damage themselves by transporting their keyboards in a case where the joystick was unprotected or squashed because the case was too thin. Then when the keyboard is lifted on its side, the joystick assembly breaks.
