Drum & Arp timing mismatched..

Post by Rishat »

Hay korgers, I'm having a very weird problem.. Hope somebody can get me out of it.. In a combi mode when I am playing an arp along with the drums its playing ok but when I am starting the arp in the middle of drum beats it not synchronizing with the rhythm.. The arp is playing on its own!! And after 4 or 8 bar counting its playing ok. Whats the catch?? I have tried all arp settings in global mode but not working.. Please assist…

I've noticed in Programme mode too, the drums and Arp sometimes go out of sequence with each other. :?

Because they are rigid arps, you would need to engage the arp on beat 1 of the drum arp. for them to be in sync. OR be sure they are both engaged when you start.

No I've often played arps that have drifted out of synch with the drums, no idea why. :(

O wonder if some of the patches have different latch setting going on with the arps, thus re-triggering especially with the left hand would cause timing issues.

Or do you literally mean a "drift" in tempo where the clock isn't constant between the two arps !!!!!!!!!!

^ This.

I have it on the setting where it should carry on an arp sequence regardless of when you press keys (can't remember the exact name of the setting), but it does gradually drift out of synch with the drums.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's possible for the two to "Drift" apart, unless you have it totally unlatched. And even then, unless your playing is "Drifting", it seems to me to be impossible.

I have many ARPs setup, play them live (I don't know how many times now), I never have seen this "Drifting". It's hard to force it to happen let alone just happen.

Post the Combi, someone will take a look at it (I'll probably look at it myself, just to see). Personally, I'd have to see it to believe it.

Make sure things are latched correctly. Time signatures could play a roll, but I'm not even sure that could happen.
