Hard Shell Case Recommendation

Post by Ajbbklyn »

I've been looking to get a hard shell case for the M50-61 key. I've looked at models from Gator, SKB and Road Runner. They all seem to be reputable brands. One of the challenges is finding something that fits the dimensions of the M50 without too much in the way of customizing the interior with foam shim. So far, the only case that comes close is a semi-rigid model from Gator (#GK-4212). I'd rather get a bona fide hard shell case, though.

Was wondering if anyone has had experience and could provide a recommendation (within the U.S.). Budget is not a problem.

Thanks!

The SKB is great, have wheels and since the M50 is somewhat slim, it leaves lots of space for cables, pedals, adapters, etc. You won't regret it.

Thanks, guys. That seems to be the prevailing wisdom.

The M50 is pretty tall and when I was looking for hard cases, there weren't many to choose from that would work. As long as you're not flying your M50, it'll a decent case.

I bought the Roadrunner and I have to say, it's bulletproof. Only problem is - it's overkill for the M50-61...way overbuilt! I may end up selling it and getting something else if I can find something that will keep my board safe.

I ended up buying the SKB Roto for US$230. from Sweetwater. Took advantage of the "12 months, no interest, no payments" with their in-house plastic (minimum purchase of $299.) also picked up a couple of XLR cables to bring the total to $299.88

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with their recommendation.
Happy Holidays
