esx-1 sampling help

Post by brandonfilmore »

ooook... I just bought my friends esx-1 for $150. The last drum-machine I owned was aroland mc-307 waaaay back in the day... I've played with this machine for about 2 hours and got most of it figured out... anywho, besides the point. I have the 64 mb smart media card for it. The preset samples, as we al know on these are just, well, silly. I want to know if there is any tricks to get my hardstyle or any of my samples from my cpu to the electribe fast and easliy?? Any tricks or tips would be awesome. I figured I could just hook my cpu up to the esx and just record the samples, but that seems WAY too tedious... so, any help, tips or trix would be awesome. Thanks so much and I look forward to being a constant member of the korg forum family.

where on gods green earth can I find a reader for this card???? I have a maudio uno cord, but I highly doubt any data other than midi can run through... the card seems to be out dated and well, just plain crappy... lemme know! And, im thinking of buying quite a few of the cards so I can have several of them for dif types of muzik... lets face it... how many samples can u save on a 128 mb card... and how crappy would it be to have to use that program everytime I wanted to make a dif style of muzik.... thanks for your replies... <AvivA>

You only need to use that program once for each 128MB worth of samples. Then you load it onto a card from your PC, and finally onto your ESX. There was a post here somewhere with some stores selling SM cards for reasonable prices.

EDIT: for reader, I got an aluratek multi-format card reader (reads around 8-12 different types of cards). These things should not be hard to find.
