How to get some dubstep

yeh mate , its cool .. its just for fun and to give others an insight into routes to take for dubstep production .
dubstep is a constantly expanding thing so varied technique is a must .
Im really just doing 1/2 time sig tune on the mx .... then taking the bass and synth parts into the computer and doing my usual 4x4/bassline thing using the tones from the mx .
I think i can get something good going between emx1+reason .
but its the mx standalone challenges i like most .
listen to DATSIK .. im sure he takes the mx sound and layers synth parts while using different lfo settings and fx . love his overall sound !!

certainly does !! ... im workin on my stuff just now , sounds are good but the lack of lof re-trigger is pissing me off again .
Im finding the SAW lfo setting to hav a more satisfying wobble than tri wave lfo ... but the cutoff and eg int need set just right .
Im kinda thinkin i dont even need to use the saw or tri LFO settings , prgramming the wobble in motion edit mode should be more acurate after manual tweaking .
I'll be happy if i can get the mx to do this tune how i hav it in my head ... but we'll hav to see , it might end up a crap idea for arrangement LOL .
( doing dubstep at around 280bpm will let knobs wobbles record more accurately because the track still moves at 140 but will record more slices of motion data )

Bassline: Square wave with bandpass filter and distortion or eq, set the filter to zero and pull the knob up and down to make the wub sound. Use the LFO if you want but i like this way a lot more, if you're going to record the parts use the motion trigger record [actually, use distortion for bassline and EQ for bass drum]
Beat: Set tempo to whatever you want (at the very least 120 BPM and above) and use a closed hi hat on 1 5 9 and 13 of each measure (using it like a metronome) and make the beat to that. The drum beat is the nicest part about using an Electribe. If i was to record music with a computer, i'd use my electribe as the drum track, prolly layered
which ever you do first is your choice. I make allllllllllllllot of dubstep on my SX, so i don't even know how people are gonna say dubstep is no good on an EMX.

lamers terms attempt towards dub step
set the slope to the zig zag thing... ^^
set the red light under the depth knob to CUTOFF
drop a low bass synth line and record it.
now adjust your cutoff to make a "wop, wop"
now play with the depth and time knobs to speed the wobble up and down..
mostly get the zig zag slope and set that other light to the right to Cutoff, and play with those 3 knobs: cuttoff, time and depth
bmp sync is OFF
Obviously this is not as technical as some of the posts.. But this is a great start and once you learn to mess with this, you will always come back no matter what
