Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum for years but was just inspired to register after wrestling with the sequencer on my Triton Studio last week. I'm usually pretty quick to figure stuff out on my own but these particular issues remain undefeated. Here's the setup. I was sequencing a track, set to external 2 controlling a Waldorf Pulse when I noticed:
1. Every time I hit locate the Triton would send out a CC# 32 = 0 which the Pulse responds to by retuning OSC 1 to -64 semitones. Why is the Triton sending this out? More importantly how do I get rid of this behavior?
2. While diagnosing the situation listed above I mapped the 4 controller knobs to various CCs. This worked brilliantly and was great fun with the Pulse......but........the sequencer would not record any of the knob motions. I checked the MIDI filter setting. I tried routing the MIDI output back in and recording that way. I tried changing local on/off as well as MIDI convert position. I got nothing for my troubles. What in the world is going on here?
3. OK this one is old & I think the answer is going to be you just can't do that. Is there any way to enter in a short sysx string event? I know you can record one, but I actually want to "type" one in. Is there any chance that I missed that feature? My Kawai K5000W's sequencer lets you do this and it's brilliant for controlling external gear.
There are 1 or 2 more mysteries of the Triton sequencer I'd love to see solved but this is good for starters. Thanks in advance for any advice or knowledge you're willing to share.
Any Triton sequencer masters out there?

Hello,
I'm trying to do my best and answer couple of those questions allthough I'm not a master with Triton SEQ...
1. If you check from any midi guide or whatever what the CC32 does it is a bank change message and the triton sends it when you press locate because it wants to make sure the right sound is chosen... I really don't know why your pulse responds in that way...
2. knob movements are not recorded if you are not really recording... which means you have to be recording (both REC and START pushed) to record the knob movements...
3. I don't really know much about sysx so I can't answer to this one...

Synastikki, thanks for the reply. You're right about controller 32, that's exactly what's causing the troubles with the pulse. In an attempt to work around it I consulted the pulse manual and discovered that CC120 can be used to reset all the controllers on the pulse. But when I went to the Triton to manually insert CC 120 I discover that the highest that can be entered is CC 110! Wow, this thing has an uncanny way of blocking my will at every step. Geez.
phaceless, why would the exclusive setting in global have anything to do with recording the knobs? The knobs generate continuous controller data not sysx. Strangely the knobs seem to be recording now though, I have no idea why they weren't before.
