KP3 under MIDI (slave) doesn't sample????

HI,

I've began to sync via MIDI my EMX1(master) and KP3 (slave), and noticed that when I do that, the KP3's button 4 keeps flashing in red and I can't sample the audio sent by the EMX1 anymore.

Is this normal?

Not in my experience. I have my EMX and KP3 linked via MIDI and I've never seen this problem.

A possibility: The EMX might be sending a CC, program change, or other MIDI message to the KP3. See if you can figure out what message(s) the KP3's Pad 4 currently accepts. Changing it on either device might help (just be careful that you don't change to something else the KP3 currently recognizes, or you'll potentially trade one problem for another).

Random thoughts: Have you tried using different MIDI channels? Do you have anything else in your MIDI chain signaling the KP3?
