Hi All!
I got my m50 about a month ago and have been lurking around here trying to learn what i can. I love this keyboard. I had played piano when i was 12 and about 9 months ago i took up electric guitar. Guitar is much harder than i thought. I wish to combine the keyboard and guitar together in the future.
I had read somewhere here that you could get output from the M 50 to your stereo by getting an adapter. so i went to radio shack and got the Y cable adapter yesterday. My amplifier normally sounds good and has a couple of nice Bose speakers.
What i noticed is there are 2 outputs from this Y connector, so i plugged them into Aux and find that i am only gettting output from the left speaker. It sounds good, espcially on the organs. I also notice that the volume seems lower than when i use my Line 6 Spiderjam 75 watt amp for keyboard output. I dont want to crank it up too much as who knows what could blow.
My question, does anyone know how to get the keyboard output to be in both speakers. I dont care if it is not in stereo.
Keyboard output through home stereo

Go to Guitar Center and get 2 cables (both exactly the same). They may even have a stereo cable available.
You need 2 1/4" male plugs to 2 RCA male plugs. Then you just plug in your synth to your stereo as if it were another component to your stereo system.

Home stereo hookup
Thanks for the tip, I am now getting stereo through my Bose speakers..... Love those organs......

Hi All,
I am new here,
. I've asked this same question to my car forum (off topic forum) and I was told that the audio out on the keyboard is designed differently than home audio component output, a lot more voltage.
One of the guys there suggested that I use the headphone out from the keyboard (M50) and I found this works great for me.
I currently have 3 options to use my keyboard, all use the headphone output port.
1. Use the head phone itself - this one, I use in-ear phones with 1/8" adapter to 1/4" plug.
2. Use the same adapter as above, to my Logictech desktop computer speaker system with a power sub (as a set).
3. Use the same adapter as above to my home stereo system (audiophie grade speakers), the cable is 1/8" to stereo RCA. I hook this up to my NAD M3 Integrated Amplifier. I only tried this once, because the keyboard is not in the same room as the stereo system.
All these options save me some money as I don't have to spend at least $300 for a pair of power monitors.
