Assignable pedal problem

Post by spinlud »

Hi all guys

i have a problem i think with the assignable pedal port.. When i am using a volume pedal i can't switch a timbre on INT, OFF, EXT etc in combination and sequencer mode, cause the function seems to be blocked. If i don't use a volume pedal all works normally. I just would like to know your opinion about that...probably i have the assignable pedal port defective?

thans for any help :)

Provide more data: are you using Korg's EXP-2 assignable pedal, assigned to control volume, or some other? I use EXP-2 and don't have any interference in sequencer mode. Also, I don't believe something's wrong with assignable port, so there must be something with the pedal and it's settings.

well, i have 2 assignable pedals, bespeco vm18l and the korg exp-2. With the bespeco the volume control works but the funciotn "INT-OFF-EXT.." of the keyboard is blocked. With the exp-2 this function is not blocked...but the volume control doesn't work fine (and also the other assignable functions). I can't understand what's happened...

thanks for the help

So i have changed my exp-2 with a new exp-2. Well, now i can control volume in the right way but there is still this boring block on INT-OFF-EXT-EXT2 function in combi and sequencer. i can't understand the reason...someone can help me?

thanks :)

Sorry, what you describe shouldn't be happening, no matter the settings you are using with your pedal. Try restoring Extreme to factory settings (do store your data before restoration) and see if everything will work as expected. Maybe the other pedal messed something up. I never heard of defective assignable pedal port, I mean, it's simple jack, nothing special.

If I recall correctly, holding down ENTER+Num0 should reset it completely and you would be forced to preload factory sounds from Global menu; ENTER+Num1 should reset it without erasing all the sounds; ENTER+Num5 should engage it in diagnostic mode where you can select several aspects of the board to be diagnosed for errors.
I would go for ENTER+Num1.
I haven't done it on my Extreme, though, never had any trouble that would force me to such solution, but I only use Korg gear (only EXP-2), maybe the other pedal you were using caused some conflicts or something.
