can't record both electribe at the same time...

Hi all been away for a while but back now with a burning question.....Why do I have to choose which of my tribe I would like to record midi off. They are both slave.

if I do this....master out> keybord in> keyB out> esx in>esx out> emx in >emx out >master in ......then the emx don't start.

If I do....master out> keybord in> keyB out> esx in>esx thru> emx in >emx out >master in ......then the esx don't send midi signal to the daw only the emx.
( on this case if I play the keyboard set with a part of the esx I get signal for it so what a f*ck!!! )

No matter which way around I set it.....it does this So looks like I gotta choose and plug and unplug............could any1 help please.....what am i missing?
