When there will be NEW BonusWare?

Post by Fransman »

The last time Korg has given us some BonusWare on the Korgpa-website was in december 2008.
Despite of the few flags in red saying 'NEW', it's been almost 3/4 of a year ago since the last (small) update appeared.

The suggested song area was updated in july 2007.

Come on, Korg, you can do better than that!

Why not give us a few new styles every, say, 3 months?
OK, it costs some money to produce them, but a good customer relation (with thousands of customers) must be worth it.

Who (dis)agrees?

%100 agree, Yamaha has done far better with their customers. I think the KORG PA team doesn't get all the attention from the corporate office in Japan. It seems that they are not well funded. This and the fact they don't have a style management software bugs me about KORG. Too bad because the Italians have put a great product together.

Hi oracle, can't say that I agree with that statement at all. What does Yamaha give away for free? They are very adept at taking money off people, look at the latest Expansion voice packs for T3 and the exorbitant price, also the IDC Site with masses of pay styles. I'm sure that korg would be very happy to develop some styles and charge us for them as extra's. Would anyone buy them? Probably not in sufficient numbers to make them viable in development times and cost and korg would know that from research.
I can understand the frustration about the lack of pc software from korg for it's apps but we know that when we Buy one. We can do most everything with the keyboards so I suppose that Korg don't feel we need pc software. After all they are meant to be pro keyboards first and formost with enormous capabilities. Yamaha cater mainly for the Home market with the top line arrangers and don't give the same facilities for editing, sampling, stylemaking etc in their boards.... plenty of third party support though for the pc

It's all about balance and what you want and need in a keyboard. :)

Both Yamaha Germany AND KORG Germany are excellent examples how to maintain a good relationship with customers.
Every few weeks/months they give their customers a few new (and very well programmed!) styles. For free, although that's not the most important I think.
It's the intention.
