can't get m50 to sync to cubase on start /stop ?

Post by walsingham »

m50 does sync to the project tempo - but ionly if i start from zero .
If i am playing back a sequence with m50 in combo mode , as soon as i hit stop, drum/arp will continue to play - if i hit play again , it drops out , but then starts out of sync.
i have checked the m50 midi page and it is set to external midi
i have cubase set as master local and m50 as slave - but no love
Can this be done ?
any obvious usual causes i might be missing?

thanks l

Could some one please just confirm that the it IS possible to have the m50 drum track stop (I have it waiting for sync and starting) with DAW host transport ?
Then i'll know the problem lies with setup.

I am using usb connection -no midi cable
thanks

Man, I had a similar/close to EXACT issue. It was something stupid I was overlooking.

I wish I could recall how I resolved the issue. But I'm telling you 100% for sure you are just overlooking something and once you find it you will be laughing (or crying, depending on how much time you invested in finding the solution.

Sorry I can't be of more help. But if I recall how I solved the issue, I'll post it here.

I'm still using SX3... Oh,, this winter I will be doing a hardware/software upgrade directly to Cubase5. I skipped the Cubase4 deal,,, I never felt real confident that upgrade was worth all the grief that I was reading about.
