Mind boggling. I did my best to search these forums, other forums, and even friends before coming here to ask for help. Couldn't find any answers elsewhere....(which might be a problem)
I'll just copy paste what I emailed to Korg support....
'm trying to connect my radias to another computer and it's just not working right. let me explain. first, all firmware is updated (2.0), and I'm using the latest USB-MIDI driver. On the new computer, I connect the USB and 2 analog ins, I install the USB-MIDI driver and my Device Manager (I'm in Windows XP) recognizes the radias as KORG RADIAS, however; no other program such as Ableton or the sound editor recognizes the radias. Even though it doesn't need it, I couldn't even update the firmware if I wanted to because the updater would not recognize the radias. I've tried reinstalling several times, rebooting, etc. It's really weird and REALLY frustrating. The device manager says its there, but Ableton, Firmware updater, and Korg Radias Sound editor don't see it. I've read the forums, my manual, and experimented my own to try and get this to work and nothing. PLEASE help.
Radias just won't show up....

I've coppied this from a post further down related to the R3, because I keep typing it out again and again....
If that doesn't solve your problem, then it may be something else. but most of the time the steps mentioned above are overlooked (and I didn't think it was obvious from your post that you had run the utility). Also this is mentioned all over the forum on most USB-MIDI issues.X-Trade wrote:Have you installed the USB-MIDI driver?
Windows mistakenly installs its own drivers which don't correctly work with KORG products.
so even after you install the driver, you still have to associate it with the device using the utility:
Start > Programs > KORG > USB-MIDI Driver > Install KORG USB MIDI Device
select the R3 and hit 'install'. if it comes up with a driver signing warning, just click continue.

i have read and tried everything. (did before posting) - email from korg says I have reached the limit on devices (10) so my next attempt to get it working will be to find a device i can delete. will try tomorrow. hopefully it works but im not holding my breath. never heard anything about windows xp capping the amount of devices
No, it is a well known problem and is mentioned a lot on here. usually if it is not what I mentioned above it is the 10 device limit.
It isn't a cap as such - just a legacy programming mistake where the space to store the list of indexes for devices hasn't ever been expanded past 10. Even if you don't have 10 devices, there can be 10 instances even of the same driver as, like when you use printers or some WiFi sticks, it installs a new driver every time you use the device on a different port.
It should probably fix you problem.
