Any of you uses an iPod or similar...

Post by kikedeolivos »

to play live your sequences on WAV format, connected to the PA to avoid using the on board sequencer or a laptop?

I'm planning on doing this procedure in order to play my favorite sounds straight from Programs or Combis the way they are meant to sound. (with it's inherent IFX's, MFX's and TFX's)

Mi idea is to mix everything to, say, left channel (mono output) and the right audio channel will be for the drummer with a click.

Also, I think a portable and rugged Player (Sony, Apple, etc.) is more stable and reliable than firing the sequencer live, not to mention how fragile a laptop is...

I remember the old days while I had an Ensoniq and all of a sudden (voltage problem within the keyboard) all the songs would vanish... After that horrible experience I've started using a Sony Mini Disc to play the sequences, already recorded on an SQ80 sequencer...was it a Kawai? Can't remember.

Your thoughts about this?
