Does anybody know how to set the date.It seems to work occasionally. as follows

set date enter the date
Save
But it does not save the date
I have tried with or without a memory card in place
Cannot find this in the guidebook

Could be wrong, but I think I remember reading that this has to be done each time you power up and that its only purpose is for timestamping the files you save to your SD card.

i will try this now. Do you know whether this must have the sd card in place or not?
You can not get to the utility screen during power up.Only when power up is completed.
