X-Trade,
Thank you ever so much. I think I have it figured out now. It really wasn't that hard. However, the combi I created required a drum kit on left. It was so quiet, I had to reduce the volumn on the right side by almost a half. Now the whole combi is too quiet. Anyway to fix this? Is there a drum kit that is louder to start?
Again, thanks a gazillion, I would never have figured it out on my own. BTW, I found editing on board easier than the computer editor.

when you make a combi, the programs don't have their effects. some people say that when they make a combi it is 'too quiet'. most of the time this is their perception of the missing effects.

when you're working with drums, there is usually a compressor or limiter involved...
If you go into the IFX: bus page, you should find that you can set the timbres to use IFX, MFX etc, and you can set these up as chorus, reverb, compressors... This is another really important section of the engine that is really worth spending some time with and learning to use, because this is where you make the sounds come alive! because of the limited effects processing, the board can't use all of the effects that are assigned to a program. for example if you have a really nice chorused guitar sound, and you load it into a combi, the chorus will be gone! until you go and set up a chorus...
It does however get you thinking and allow you to prioritise and tailor the effects to work best for the song that you are working on.

anyway, if you go to the Bus page, you'll find there is a 'DKit' option, which tends to make drum kits sound a lot better.
Otherwise you can try inserting a compressor or limiter to the IFX and routing the drumkit timbre to the insert effects.
There is an option to copy the effects from a program, in the utility menu. This is obviously handy, because you could copy the effects that that drum kit is using in program mode.

Thanks again, X-Trade. I tried it but I'm still not too clear on some of it. I will learn. In the meantime, I found my drum machine which I will midi to one of my other keyboards. I know i can control the volumn & effects on it. Again, thanks and I know it would have taken forever (if then) to do this on my own. :D
