ABLETON + ZERO 8 +( ELECTRIBES )

Hi all

Help needed here please!!! .........I'm trying to get the channels of the electribe in ableton 8 so i can effect and work on each channel. I created a midi track for drums and 5 for synth looking like the thread in the link below www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=32331

it is set like this:
midi from zero 8 in plug 3>all channel>
midi to zero 8 out plug 3> channel of the receiving signal in the drum machines

There is probably something wrong as i get no signal in the midi channel......Also I got the zero 8 on auto detect midi in and out

I get the signal in an audio channel but I need to separate each channel..........thanx

Are you using Ableton to send midi to the Electribe?

Are you using more than one Electribe?

And how are you outputting the audio from the Electribe(s) to your zero 8?

The zero 8 ll be the master of the setup ( after me ), with midi coming in and out.

I basically want to have my tribes ( emx-esx) coming in ableton via zero 8 interface. I need them set in ableton as separate midi channels drums / synth 1...5 so I can apply effects/ compression on it.I made 6 tracks with >zero 8 in >corresponding emx midi channel .
Then I want midi out to a channel/fader of the zero 8.
The thing is in ableton 8...dunno in other version there is a small meter in the input channel selection box and that tells me there no signal coming in... so it as to be because of the input settings..........I do get an audio signal so it as to be .....midi in related.... in the mean time ll keep trying different options midi settings............
It may b a case of choosing which plug (1,2 or 3) from the zeo 8. I've tried >midi in zero 8 plug 2 which is for communication>corresponding emx midi channel then >out plug 2 going in channel 3 of the mixer.
Also tried it with plug 1 & 3....no incoming signal either!

Regarding the audio output of the tribes,I set the zero 8 channel 7&8 to master,>Ableton audio in ext> channel 7&8> audio out master which come out of channel 1 audio+midi of the zero 8

basicaly I was told wot I wanna do is not poss....but i'm shure it must be...I was hoping to have in ableton a midi track per synths(1 to 5) like they r on the tribes and control/effect them individually in ableton...while playing live......in the link( which you probably checked) on the top of the thread Dj TBA there is a screenshot of what it should look like( in there it is asked something different but the over views is same)........thanx for taking time.... I hope I'm making sense cos dunno how to be more explicit

And anyway when you recording a external input in ableton....shouldn't notes appear in the piano roll of the corresponding channel?
