Shine on you crazy diamond patch

Post by ayrton64 »

Hi to everybody.
I'm a new Triton extreme owner. I'm searching Shine on you crazy diamond intro patch for my keyboard.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance

Do you mean the sustained chords or the monophonic (melody) patch?

Hi Goom.
Thanks for replying.
Both, if possible. I don't know if there's a Combi "Shine on" patch;
otherwise my priority is for the pad sounds.
Thanks again.

Sorry for the late reply..

My original thought was to try to create the programs myself ans send them to you, but things have gotten busy lately. I'll plan on trying my luck on the sounds this coming week (if that's not too late).

Hi Goom.
No problem for the late reply.
Thank you so much for your helpfulness.
Take your time to create the "Shine on" patch; I don't want to bother you too much.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi again,
Do you have the MOSS board in your Triton?

Okay, I had some free time tonight. I didn't know if you had the MOSS board, so I made the sounds using the on board ROM sounds. I did this using headphones, so I'm hoping everything sounds balanced. If not, it would be easy to modify the volumes of the patches using the Combi mixer settings.

I made three patches (oops...I mean programs ;)) for the combi:

1. The lead sound (saved to program A00)
2. The organ/string sound (Saved to Program A01)
3. The bass (saved to Program A02)

I had some "works in progress" in my Combi A bank A00-A02), so I saved the "Shine On" combi to A03.

You can hear an MP3 and download the PCG file here:

http://synthasaurus.googlepages.com/stuff

Please note that *** the PCG file WILL DELETE (overwrite) your Program and Combination A Banks***, so if you do not have all the sounds saved to media of some sort, they will be gone forever. Please back up all your sounds before loading my PCG file.

Remember, the combi to select will be A03.

Also on my webpage is an mp3 called Sync. This is the result from one of my sample sessions using the Extreme. I've been having a blast with sampling, and hope to get back into it when time allows. I've really been happy with the results.

I don't even know the Shine On song, but I just checked out the MP3 out of curiosity.

Nice work man! I can't wait to use these when I get my board back. (By the way I have MOSS, in case your capable of programming something even cooler with that)

Thanks elevated!

Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a song from Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here album. It was released back in the late 70s. I always liked this song and thought it'd be fun to try and re-create the sounds on the Triton after reading this thread.

I found a link of the song at youtube, if you're interested:

BTW, did you lend your Triton to someone, or is it being repaired perhaps? You mentioned that you'll be getting it back(?).

That song is beautiful... this is the PF I need to be listening to! And I didn't do a direct comparison but it sounds like you hit the nail on the head.

I have a fully loaded Extreme waiting for me in my father's attic, back in NY. I had to relocate for work temporarily and wasn't able to bring it with me. (I bought myself a couple little things to take it's place!)

Ah.. well I'm glad to hear there wasn't something wrong with your Extreme. Here's to a speedy reunion. :)

My favorite Pink Floyd albums were from the 70s. I lost interest when The Wall came out, but I have heard some things I've liked since then. My favorite PF album is Animals, but there's a lot of great music on their other albums of course.

I'm checking out that album asap... I dig your taste! I was listening to the recordings of your modular on your website.

Feel like sharing any cool MOSS patches??

Thanks elevated! I recorded those sounds as kind of a reminder to myself of the types of sounds possible on my modular. I'm most proud of the Firebird mp3. :)

I have a couple of homebrew Triton MOSS sounds, but not many. I've owned the Triton less than a year, and the band that I intended to use it for dissolved soon after I bought it.
