Hello,
are there any pc editor software for PA800 that will allow me to edit a .set ? for example I want to organize my perfomances and styles (change position), and have them together by its type (ex. in the piano bank store all piano sounds etc.). I have a big problem when I want to select a style or a performance beacause they are not organized in categories.
thanks
.set editor for PA800

Yes, a big drawback with the Pa800 and Pa2x series of keyboards, is the lack of any PC (or MAC) based software to organise user styles, sounds and samples. It's not impossible to do it on the Pa keyboard, but it is time consuming and complicated. I do know some Korg employees who in private agree that PC / MAC based software is needed. But the costs of developing it have to be approved by Korg HQ in Japan. They will not fund it even though it's been suggested many times.

Meanwhile: you can do it "easily" by writing every wish down from your xx.SET and loading every item from USB xx.SET in the correct position.
The files you overwrite in your current xx.SET still exist on the USB with the same SET, so it is a perfect way to load them where you want it, without losing any stuff or changes.
Yes it is time consuming, but you have to do it only once and will not take more time than 20 minutes on the machine
(and 20 minutes for writing every position down where you want it)

Hi Macboy,
Maybe you can help with this ...
Take two sets, SET A and SET B,
SET A contains User Styles in USER01, User Sounds in USER01 and User Samples. The styles use some of the user sounds.
SET B contains User Styles in USER01, User Sounds in USER01 and User Samples. The styles use some of the user sounds.
The requirement is to merge the two SET files to produce a single SET file that can be loaded automatically in a single operation, where the User Styles are in USER01 and USER02, the User Sounds are in USER01 and USER02 and the samples are correctly autoloaded.
And once you can do this for any two SET files with linked styles and sounds and samples, would you be willing write an illustrated user guide to help everyone else who is getting stuck?
It can be done, but it's too complicated for most people ...
Best regards,
Rob

Hello Rob.
Of course I would be willing to do this, but please send me a PB about this one. We can discuss there.
Becasue the question of TS was not about merging different SET's into one, but about editing an existing SET.
This can be done fairly "simple" by using the same SET twice. One already loaded on Korg and one on USB and/or Hard Drive.
