When I record something on my M50, how do i send it to my pc
Hey
So I'm learning the sequencer and I'm figuring out how to record, but when I record a song is it possible to transfer the made song to my Mac and then burn it to a CD to listen to and show people?
Thanks

if you have basically two ways:
MIDI way
get a SD (not SDHC) , put it in your M50 and save your song as standard MIDI file format 0 to have everything in a single midi track or format 1 (suggested) to have each sequencer track mapped into a MIDI track.
you get a midi file to be played back with any MIDI player or other sound module GM compatible (if you do not want to have problem with program change comand, use GM bank in your sequencer). you do not get M50 sounds, only MIDI!
AUDIO way
if you want to record directly audio from M50 to pc you need to buy a USB audio interface so that from one side it is connected to pc over USB and from other side to M50 using L/R jack. you need also a software sequencer installed on your pc (as Cubase, Reason, Reaper, Audacity...) in which selecting the Audio interface as input for audio track and then record the audio of M50 through the USB Audio interface.
you can then record your song track by track o all at once.

I have a Mac though so I can't use the soundforge thing.
When I record direct into garageband through a USB interface, the sound quality is s**t and distorts or its too quiet or tinny.
Anyone know what to do?
I'm using a M-Audio Fasttrack USB and plugging the keyboard into the line input in the back and then the USB from the maudio box into the macbook.

that's correct. you have got a good audio interface and a good DAW, so should be able to record M50 output fine. check that the input gain in the fasttrack o in garage band is not to high
sometimes there is problems of ground loop with pc power supply that creates background noise... have a try recording with pc disconnected from power supply

You probably have the gain up too high on the keyboard, on the sound card, in Garage Band, or in multiple places. Distortion means that something is too loud and should be turned down.
Keyboard Rig: Korg Kronos, Moog Sub 37, Waldorf Blofeld Module, Neo Instruments Ventilator II, Moog MiniFooger Delay, Strymon BigSky, Roland KC-150, Mackie 802-VLZ4 Mixer
What I do is I record through a 1/4 to 1/8 and plug into my recording input on my PC. From here I work from Audacity Mixcraft and record the parts on different tracks. If the sound is distorted, adjust your sound levels by going to sound and then recording devices and lowering the input volume. Also move the volume slider down on your M50.
While your recording, monitor what you are playing through the headphones jack.
Good luck!
