Opening M50 88 Box today~ Help!

Post by kev410 »

Well I have my M50 Since Dec 28th but with work issues, today will be first day setting up. It's been killing me looking at box when I go to bed. Any Day one advice? Do the updates have to be updated in order or can you just jump to latest and install?

Thanks to all replies. Wish me luck! "I'm so excited"

When I received mine it was version 1.03 ...I upgraded directly to the last one without any problem.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone even reading the manuals?

This is some of the most simple things covered in the manual.

Unless your turning on the M50 for the 1st time, and it's not working, this really shouldn't even be a question.. IMO.

Try spending 4 hours and read thru the manuals quickly.. Then later refer back if you have a question.

Personally, I've probably spent way over 100 hours reading the PG & manual. And still have to constantly look things up (but getting less & less having to refer to the manuals).

I'm actually reading lot of .pdf-manuals on the internet of keyboards that I don't even own  on this forum and on some other ones I've solved some problems by reading online-pdfs... I'm kind of manual freak. Although I haven't read my triton classic manual very well, which is quite weird because it my only board at the moment

The answer is still the same as in your other thread about this. You download the upgrade package and the instructions are in a doc in the zip file.

You can also get instructions on the Korg website
Korg M50-88, Nord Electro2 73, Roland JV-90

Fender Strat Plus Deluxe, Ibanez MESA, Line6 Variax, Line6 POD 2.0

Update

Post by kev410 »

Sorry I have not been back in touch. My M50-88 booted up with out any problems and I upgraded to latest OS (loaded latest OS..you can skip everything in between) and all is fine. Touch screen has some ghost lines but overall it is fine too. NOw the learning begins. I'm coming from an Ensoniq MR76 workstation. Oh my how technology has advanced since that board. I am sure I will be posting questions soon but thanks for everyone's input directly or indirectly. This forum is a wealth of info even in it's infancy.

Easy

Very easy..The keyboard was new so I was not worried about overwriting or loosing any new sounds etc.
