Recording Help Please

Post by korgork »

Ok so I have all the buttons for the sounds I like ready, what do I do to start recording to I would use some sound in I-C section and would be of course affecting sounds so how to I record it and how should I name it or should I wait to name until I upload to my computer? I'm not sure if I use the sample section or sequencer section for recording....I'm using headphones, just want to record what I'm creating HELP :) I just bought mine today it's all set up. Also what is your experience with dampers with the Korg what does the half damper do vs the normal damper? Thanks

Your post is a little confusing but here goes.

When you have selected the program / combi you wish to use for your recording press the enter button and the record button at the same time,

you will be asked if you want to copy the program/combi for recording,

press yes and the recording light will start flashing on a new seq.

Press the start / stop button, wait for the count down then start playing.

Once you have laid down your first track you will need to select other sounds for other tracks, however these may not sound the same once inside the sequence as they have no effects set so you wil need to set them manually unless there is a way of merging in other programs.

You see when you first copy in a program/combi all the effects are copied in with it but when you just select a program to use from the sequencer no effects are set.

I hope this makes some sense.

cheers.

yes, all of what mfblues said is correct.

alternately, you can simply (while in combi or prog modes) press and hold the enter button, and while holding it, press the rec/write button.

So just find the sound or combi you want, then do that^^^

Um..A half damper pedals offer more precise control over sustain and release. THis is most useful for Piano Programs. The off and full-on positions of the damper work just like a regular foot-switch, but positions between those modulate the release time to increase sustain, without making it infinite. (just like a real grand piano would do). M3 automatically recognizes a half-damper pedal, but you'll half to calibrate it.

hope this helps.

good luck
