When I bought my 01w/fd in the early 90's, I created a bunch of sequences on it. I later transferred these sequences into my computer as standard midi files using Cakewalk Pro Audio.
I recently bought a TR76 and wanted to transfer a few of these sequences into the TR. So, I connected my TR to my computer via the USB interface. No problem so far. The TR responds to the incoming midi file.
However, when I record the sequence into the TR's sequencer (using the multi-record mode) each channel plays back the appropriate instrument BUT it also gives me an acoustic piano sound. My drum channel (10) plays the drum program but also plays an acoustic piano sound for each event. If I stop the sequencer and play the TR's keys (with channel 10 active), I get both the drum sound AND the acoustic piano sound for each key. I've tried turning off the "local" and tried filtering out everything except note-data. Still no luck. Made sure that all the tracks were set to a different midi channel but still no luck.
What am I doing wrong?

One track playing two different sounds at the same time is not possible unless you are doubling up on your midi channels somewhere.
I suggest you just look closely at what's going on.
Also, why are you recording the music into your LE that way ?. Can you just load the midi files directly into it's sequencer ?.
Regards.
