ok so basically im tryin to do live song production. building tracks with a looper using a turntable, synth, and voice.
ive got a TTX turntable and a kaossilator both running through a Rane TTM56 scratch mixer. ive also got a KP3 in the FX loop of the 56 so i can control both intruments with the KP3 and how wet and dry the FX are of each. so ive got all that then running into an Electro Harmonix 2880 super multi track looper w/foot pedal. then the signal is going into a Mackie mixer. i want to add Reason and a good controller instead of the koassilator. im also going to have another KP to effect the signal after it has been looped...
so im looking for a controller 37 or 49 keys that has drum pads, pitch bend and modulation wheels instead of a joystick, and would be preferable if i could run the koassilator through the controller as well. im looking for something with semi-weighted keys with after touch and plenty of controls for effecting the sound. it would also be preferable if it was built well. oh and i would also be interested in a hard synth that has MIDI capabilities.
having said that these are the options im looking at:
http://korg.com/product.aspx?&pd=458

i like the korg stuff because of the quality of sound im getting from their other products i own.
then there is the novation stuff

http://www.turntablelab.com/production_ ... 37960.html
what i really like about the novation controllers is that they are preset to sync with Reason really well. and just look at all the controls on the ReMote 37SL...
and then ive also been seriously looking at this Akai
http://www.turntablelab.com/production_ ... 34388.html
its got genuine MPC drum pads which i really like as well as a good amount of assignable controls. i just dont want it to be a pain to assign all of them. i also dont know what the sound quality the akai has as well as durability...
for those of you with experience with korg controllers as well as others, please share some info. its really getting hard to decide as non of the controllers ive listed above have everything im looking for.
any other options im missing?
thanks alot for reading!
