How do I use stereo wave samples in a multisound?
I apologize if this is an old question, but searches did not find an answer.
I am loading wave files in the triton extreme sampler. some are mono, and some are stereo. The stereo one's show up as sample-L. and sample-R. When I create a new index, with a mono sample it is easy, with the stereo sample, I can only select either the left or right. I would expect the index to have two locations for left and right. Either that or I suspect that my sample is not in the right wave file format. Is that it?

I might be wrong but I think that extreme cannot play stereosamples on one oscillator (that means in one multisample) so if you want to use stereosamples you must make two multisamples, one for left and one for right. Then make a dual program with one osc is left-sample and other is right-sample and pan the amp stages left and right. Then you have a program of that stereosample... I might also be wrong in this matter because I don't do lots of sampling...

Thank You
Thank you for your reply, that makes sense. Now I just have to see if two indexs can exist on the same key, that way the left and right samples will play from the same key. I suppose that is the way it should work then. I am a little surprised that no one else that uses samples has run into this situation. Either that or I am just not being clear enough. I have created stereo samples when I had a triton studio with a built in disk drive. Now I am importing samples which is why it's a little confusing...

There is a way to do this. When you are in the sampling menu, you have to select the left sample. Afterwards you have to open the dropdown menu and select “MS Mono To Stereo” (0–1H). You can find everything about sampling in the parameter guide on page 117 of the PDF
