KP3 Synth Sounds

Is there a way to turn off the looping on the synth sounds so that they are truly one shot without any echo effect? I'd like to use this feature to add synths to beats I'm creating on my mpc and can't do it because it repeats the sound to match the bpm so it creates this echo every time you touch the pad. Any help is appreciated!

turn down the FX release on the patch you want to use.
consult the manual if you don't know how

And you should consider buying the Kaossilator or DS-10 because they're much better for what you're doing than the KP3. You can set the key and scale on them.

I'd also like to switch off that echo, but I don't think FX release actually has any effect on most of the Synth Programs.

Besides FX Release is set to 'Off' as the default for the Synth Programs.
