Please help, need advice

Post by KingBooger »

I have a home based non-professional recording studio (16 track studio, Yamaha MO6, Korg EMX). I am contemplating getting a second keyboard, but I am curious about computer integration. I have never used a computer in any phase of my music. Should I get a second keyboard like the M50 or Radias, or should I get a laptop and a firewire interface? The TC Electronic interface I am looking at comes with Cubase LE. I thought that might be a good start. What are the advantages or disadvantages of computer based music creation? Please help me out.

No disadvantages with computer recording in my opinion, go for it!

I did, and would NEVER go back.

Cubase LE is a great place to start, you'll be amazed at how much you can accomplish with that, and if nothing else, the big screen is totally awesome!

Thanks for your reply Stephen. I don't think I am ready to take the plunge on a DAW yet. I plan on getting a Radias R and controlling it with my MO6. I think the Radias will be a great compliment to my EMX and ESX.
