Very impressed with the M50 61 I tried out yesterday and thinking of going for the 88.
Couldn't try the M50 88 itself but played an SP250 in the store which had a superb action. Can anyone confirm that this is the same keybed as used on the M50 88?

That's good news about the action - I like the better Yamaha actions too.playsthe88s wrote:I also don't know about the SP250, but I checked out an M50 yesterday and thought the action was very good - a lot like my Yamaha P140, which I just love. If the acoustic piano sounds were better I would consider replacing my P140 but they don't come close...oh well.
Can't agree on the acoustic piano sounds though. To me the M50 pianos sounded live and dynamic, and there are a wide range of them including a mono piano for live work (which is mainly what I need)
I guess my alternative choice would be a Yamaha S90ES but Yamaha pianos are generally not good at "cutting through" in a live band setup - still a great piece of kit though!
