Steve,
the new sounds are really good; I especially liked the Jazz Organ, the Guitars and the Strings, but what really impressed me are the new styles, because all the fills work flawlessly and without volume jumps and also because they have been heavily tweaked in the Eq section, and for this reason their overall sound is now more "CD-like" (if you know what I mean... )
Hi Andrea. I've installed without a hitch and from my initial observations I think pretty much as you do. I have found the 'fills' to be much better so far.
I especially like the style to text screen feature, That will be VERY useful to me.
The new DNC Voices are: [Unless I've missed some]

Electric Piano2
Harmonica
Blues Harmonica
Grand Nylon Guitar
Real Folk Guitar
Jazz Guitar
Movie Strings
A Capella
Trumpet
Trombone
Alto Sax
Tenor Sax
Flute
Clarinet
Whistle
Wave Synth
Finger Bass

All I need to do now is learn how to use them properly!
Still lot's more exploration to go as I've only had a limited time to check it out ......

I look forward to reading about these DNC voices. The technology sounds very interesting.

Revolutionary in fact.

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone confirm (or not) that many of the styles on the pa800 have been "upgraded" to using guitar mode to the same extent that it was used in the styles of the pa2x? I know that this was something that people were expecting...

Thanks, Avi

The OS 2.0 upgrade manual has a lot of info about how the DNC voices work. There is also a very handy table of the DNC voices included. For each voice you can see which controllers are active and there are useful hints about how to play it. Download the upgrade manual here:

Pa800: http://www.korgpa.com/pa_root/pdf/pa800 ... G-EFGI.pdf

Pa2X: http://www.korgpa.com/pa_root/pdf/pa2x/ ... G-EFGI.pdf

Kind regards,
Tommy

Hello.

The Pa800 gets the exact same out of this update as the Pa2X. Well, that's the impression I get form the KORG website and I see nothing that says otherwise.

I haven't checked all styles (by far  ), but I have already found a few styles in OS 2.0 that have been upgraded to use guitar mode. As Sharp I am quite sure that the OS 2.0 styles and sounds are identical on Pa2X and Pa800. I can't see any reason why not.

Kind regards,
Tommy

Sorry to be a party pooper but:

Existing fault migrated to ver. 2 : Global - Midi - Placing a Program Change Filter on any one channel - prevents Program Change to be sent on all channels - I would have thought this a Software bug and easily rectified. OS Ver 2.00001?

However, although I have problems with failing LEDs, the OS2 makes real nice sounds. Very pleased with the Sax DNCs, great for sexi-solos, but there again, the beauty of the sound is in the ear of the beholder.

I sure hope these styles will also be made available for PA500! You make me very curious (perhaps I should say 'jealous', but that sounds so negative...).
I wish you all the best & lots of fun! :D

Jerry or Sharp,

Im a little confused on the downloads.

It seems there are 4 files you need total to upgrade to 2.0. Please correct me if Im wrong.

1. formate with Pa800_format.zip (800 KB)

2. Install with Pa800_os_v200.zip (6.8 MB)

3. Install Pa800_res_v200.zip (7.8 MB)

4. Pa800_os_res_v200.zip (114 MB)

Im confused between number 3 and 4. Which one goes first or do I even need #4?

If someone could clear this up it would help most of us. Thanks

Thanks Nedim,

I think you mean the following

1. format
2. OS installation
3. largerg resrouce of 114 mb rather than 8 mb.

If i do 1 and 4 it will not include process of OS installation.

Unless OS 2 is on resource of 114 mb.

Correct me if Im wrong please. Thanks again.

Why does korg provide two different resources anyways? One is 8 mb and the other is 114. Im assuming 114 has the 8mb included in there.
