Hello, old Korg fan but new microX user

Hello there!

I have just bought a microX Korg synth and found out about this forum. Having read through some pages devoted to Triton and my new purchase I can just say: What a great Korg users haven!

I have been into synth programming and MIDI since early 1990s. I had a passing relationship with Roland's D50 synth, then a long one with Casio VZ (additive synthesis!), later with Roland's GR33 guitar synthesizer (quite a lot of patches I created are available on my page: http://www.macminer.opoka.org.pl/gr33/). I have also programmed some Yamaha stuff and some Korg 05R/W programs and combis.

I still have the 05R/W and many of its patches - especially organ ones (both pipe and electronic) are indispensable for me. After about a week's time I can say that microX is a very appreciated addition to my home studio, but it is not going to replace the 05R/W. More probably, it will make my old Yamaha QY70 redundant.

One quick observation I've made: the new and old Korg synths sound absolutely great together. Even though the sample pool and synthesis methods are different (AI2 versus HI), the timbres complement each other beautifully, for example when I play some arpeggiated combis from microX as background and use 05r/w for solo parts. This has never been so with Korg vs Yamaha - every time I played the two together, there was something artificial in the overall sound quality.
