determine what notes/cc pads are sending?

Post by db120 »

I need to determine what cc/notes my padkontrol is sending out on a couple of pads.
I know what notes it says in the editor and on the unit itself, but I'm having trouble with a vst accepting the correct notes.

I recall something like MIDI-OX (or similar program) will show it it's GUI what MIDI cc/notes I'm sending.. Does anyone know the program I'm referring to? thanks

Sure. It's a simplye MIDI utility that will show you the command that each knob, pad, (any MIDI controller, etc) is sending out.

But I wonder, what is the editor not showing you? That should be cut and dry, so long as you a) transmit the scene you're seeing and b) have that scene called up.

Yeah I used Midi-ox to look at what midi notes were being translated and it worked. The reason is because in Ableton Live on midi channels 13 and 12 the notes are being scrambled in a weird way, when trying to control Guru with the Padkontrol.

It's an Ableton bug I'm pretty sure, since the notes on the pads are working fine in Reaper....
