Problem with upgrade

I downloaded the korg xpanded upgrade for m3,i put the files into the USB drive and i connecte it to korg.But,it says that it cant find the files.When i go load them one by one it says'' illegal file type''.
Any sollutions?

Did you extract them first, they are zipped when you download them.

Did you format the USB stick with the M3?
If not it can be a little strange, so I'd give that a go then put the files back onto the stick from your computer.

I've had some funny things happen with sticks formatted using windows, where the M3 can't see/read folders, but can see/read individual files and write to the stick no problem.

For the most trouble-free operation I'd definitely try formatting it via the M3 itself, but rememer to back up any other files you may have on there to your computer first!

You can not load the files one at a time. First you have to upgrade. Global menu, then upper right corner menu select "update system software". You do that twice!

After the update your M3 is expanded and will load/recognize the *.kep files.
There are no stupid questions.., only stupid answers..

Yes i tried to do this but when i press -''update system software''--> i then press OK- but then it doesnt find the files
