Saving patterns with midi

Hey, is there another way to save patterns onto my laptop without using smartmedia? Cause my smartmedia card has broken down.

you could theoretically do a midi dump via sysx and then restore it... however you have to know very advanced midi and be comfortable sending pure sysx data back and fourth.... and it's really really time consuming.

its pretty hard to get actual smart media cards anymore. but an XD card with a smart media adapter will work fine (only the 128mb versions of XD will work)
