OASYS CANCELLED IN FRANCE

Post by Stralner »

I read this post on Karma lab forum, so I checked my self and this also goes for Denmark.

Korg pleace make a statement here, Is this a produktion problem or a Korg deathsentance to the Oasys?

The word is already out, pleace comment on this in some way

PROVIDER KORG for FRANCE
OASYS 76 stock = 0 (last come from italy)
OASYS 88 stock = 1 (reserved for me) maybe more in europe

Delay for new delivery
OASYS 76 : + 1 year announced
OASYS 88 : same delay as 76 (function of EU stock)

WHAT IS THIS !!! the END of the OASYS story ??? or just the delay for an new UPGRADE HARD/SOFT !!!

pour le reste, je ne peux pas en dire plus.

stock that you announce is also false. information confirmed today of korg in France.

The irony is that all this talk of discontinuing the Oasys could lead to just that. I would recommend resisting the temptation to jump to conclusions and post statements that aren't backed up by actual fact. Especially since Korg seem to be resisting the temptation to bolster confidence in the product. Let's not piss on our own strawberries here ;-)

As myself and others have said here and over at KLF, it's unfortunate and very discouraging to see the Oasys 76 not being sold at Sweetwater, however it doesn't necessarily mean that the Oasys hardware or software have been discontinued. I wouldn't be surprised to see an Oasys 73 with Korg's own keybed in the future, and maybe this switch has caused the interruption in the production of the Oasys. Right now, without knowing any better, that is just as likely as it being permanently discontinued.

For everyone's benefit please let's try to be a little more rational on this subject.

Hello all!

My name is César and it´s my pleasure to announce that the last Oasys 88 in Brasil is mine, serial 001004. Pride Music (Korg dealer) isn´t going to import this beast anymore, guess it´s too expensive and ppl aren´t buying, specially when you have a price war between Yamaha and Roland....... owning such an unique gear like the O couldin´t be more satisfying

I´m playing this beast for about 18 hours nonstop, it´s like heaven. No complains at all, it´s THAT perfect, maybe the feel of the keys could be more realistic (I have a piano on the next room), but i can live with that.

And what about Karma.......... i bought the Oasys for its synthesis capabilities and thought that Karma would be a "nice plus" , but wow............. That´s so far the coolest thing I´ve experienced on the last 18 hours, i can´t stop jamming with it, it´s so inspiring and addicting!! Way to go Stephen!!

Anyway, gotta play more, there´s a sweet combi waiting for me.. Musical Fox here i come!

Daz I now exactly what you mean, but if Korg are professionals the must have seen this comming....The statement that Oasys will not be imported rules all over, dount you also think Korg should make some kind of statement if what you say is right?

I remember seeing posts like that many times over years, it is not a recent phenomenon. A number of countries that couldn't see the product selling in their market, elected not to import it. I suspect you could find similar posts for the Roland V-Synth GT, Korg PA2XPro, Nord Wave and other similarly expensive pieces of gear.

I am very keen to know too :-) Like you, and everyone else here, I invested a lot of money into this. My hope was that it would grow to have broad synthesis coverage like the Z1/MOSS or OASYS PCI card. Korg have made fantastic progress with that, with the STR-1 and MOD-7 etc. I'd love to know whether other similarly gorgeous engines were coming or the whole project is done.

But ... no matter how much frustration is expressed or concerns raised, Korg will not say anything until they are able and ready. They are listening, and waiting until they have something concrete to say. Better that, than offer a false reassurance.

Could not agree more Daz, and no one wants false reassurance from korg.

Let hope Korg will surprice us instead with something great....right. :P

I still have faith :-)

Not seeing the O76 at Sweetwater is discouraging but Korg's track record with many fine developments for the Oasys is equally encouraging.

I think we should put this to bed now and not mention this until after the Winter NAMM announcements.

It is starting to get boring discussing the same old same old all of the time.
