Hi there everybody,

I registered just a few seconds ago. A short introduction:
I'm from Holland and yesterday I ordered a new PA500.
Great instrument in my opinion!
It will be in the store this week, so I almost can't wait...

I've played Technics KN1000 for about 15 years, so I really needed a new impulse for my playing. I think Korg is the best match for me. Really nice styles and sounds!

I hope to have lots of fun with my KB AND here at the forum.

Grtz,

Fransman

Hi Fransman,

Welcome to the forum and to your new Pa500. Look in on the Pa2x / Pa800 section which caters also for the Pa500 and 588 ... Just don't try storing new samples :-)

I know that PA500 hasn't got this functionality.
I don't mind; there are lots of good samples on board & there are plenty of possiblities to change the sounds.
Good enough for me, in any case. I don't gig, but just play at home. A great way to relax.
(Most of the time with headphones; also a great feature of a keyboard) :D

Thanks for your post!

Hi Fransman,

I agree with you - the sample capability gets over-rated. When you have an onboard ROM containing thousands of first class factory samples, you can create an infinite number of different sounds and effects yourself using the Sound and EFX capabilities.

And then you can start writing styles from scratch. In 5 years you will still not have used 50% of the capabilities of a Pa500. It is a truly amazing piece of gear.

I hope you'll share some of your expertise with the rest of us on the Pa2x/ Pa800 section in the fulness of time!

Hi Rob,

I'll do my best!
But first I have to get used to the new interface, I guess.
Korg is quite different than Technics.
So the upcoming weeks/months I will probably post more questions than answers I suppose...

Sorry in advance!
