Power Supply - from US to AU

Post by zorg »

Hi

Does anybody know if M3, that was bought in US, can be used in Australia without any modifications on power supply?

Thanks in advance
Zorg

PS. Appologies if this has been discussed already (could not find it myself). :?

Hi,

I know that the difference between the US and Europe power is the Voltage that get out of the plug. Here, it's 110 V and in Europe, 220 V. If on the m3 the input is written something like 100 to 240 V, then you can use it in Europe with an adaptor for the plug (size).

But I don't know if the only difference between Europe and Australia is the size of the plug... is the Voltage in Australia higher than the limit on the m3?

I hope this can help!

KORG won't write the true voltage on it.
Triton and Trinity Series keyboards have universal PSU's and KORG only write local voltage on them.

Chances are that the M3 has a universal PSU also, but until someone can confirm that, I'd hold off trying it.

Regards.
Sharp.

I purchased my M3 in California and it works fine here in New Zealand. I have been told and have read on the Karma-Lab site that the PSU is a universal voltage device. Even if the label on the Back of the M3 shows only 110v as mine does.

Exactly !!! I opened the rack unit of M3 which I bought from Japan and saw a Laptop powersupply inside marked as 100v ~ 240v ..

But, the outside tag on the body showed up 110v only... I understood that the PSU is universal but mentioned on the body to remind the user about the country's voltage..

So, if I got it right, I just plug in the right power cable and the instrument will automatically select the right voltage.

Guys, thanks a lot for that. Can't wait to have fun with the beast!

Was thinking about getting it on ebay.

Will have a look at ishibashi music as well. Very appreciative of your advise, Dr. Ven. :D
