Software to control EMX-1? Please Help!!

Post by SoundUser »

Hiya I have had my electribe for about 6 months and have only just realized you can control the electribe with the computer, when windows media player played a multi channel midi file through the korg!!

I’m using reason and the electribe together by the sync of the midi clocks, now reasons sequencer can’t do multi channel midi out. So I need some software that can and also midi to reason.

Anyone use Qubase or something like that??

Thanks for looking

It is definetly worth it.

Now as for cheaper... go to guitar center and buy yourself a nice midi controller that comes with a copy of live lite.... You then not only get a midi controller but also you can upgrade live lite to live 7 full for a lot less. Two birds with two stones but in the end you got a basic setup ;)

theres an le version but im not sure if it will miss certain features that you may need.

the other thing to do is surf about the ableton forums because people sell their licences for a lot less than retail price... also if your a student then they have special educational discounts for them lot!

i am just wondering why would anyone use software to control electribes.
the whole charm of the boxes is the hands on aspect and motion sequencing capabilities...

as far as mx sound goes - plenty of vsts out there with more sonic potential.
why get mx in anyway?

am i missing something with the live + mx combo?

With software you can do crazy things you can't do on the machine by its self, for instance, automate the effect type, or oscillator type. Also with Live you can make detialed motion sequances with the envelope editor and then copy them to the machine.
