M3 VS Novation ReMOTE 25 SL do not work!

Post by Tonefloat »

I just picked up an used Novation ReMOTE 25 SL for a good price. The goal was to control the Radias EXB step sequencer. I used the program MIDI-OX to get the SysEx since I can not find it in the official M3 SysEx documentation that was publiched in June.

A typical SysEx from the M3 looks like this
F0, 42, 30, 75 41 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 04 F7 counting up to 14 bytes except the staring F0 and ending F7.

However, my ReMOTE 25 SL can only handle 12 bytes SysEx and Novation support confirmed that. The funny thing is that the old Novation Remote could handle 20 bytes so I just assumed that the new one could fix it.

Have I totally missunderstod something, in order to control things like Radias step sequencer and other Radias EXB parameters I must use SysEx (except the obvious CC commands for cutoff and so on)?

If so I can not use my beloved Novation ReMOTE 25 SL....?

It looks like KORG Kontrol 49 can handle 20 byte SysEx, maybe that could be an option.
