Apogee Duet + RME 400 issue

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about issues regarding the Apogee Duet + RME 400 connected to a Macbook?
It seems that either of them work seperatly, but not together - consequently no possibility to chain the two of them.

The Apogee also crashes the Mac, resulting in a restart every time the computer has been in rest mode. Apogee claims that it is a Mac kernel panic, and the problem mainly occurs on computers with >2 GB RAM.
