Dream Electribe

Post by FreshHorses »

what would your dream electribe have? heres mine

1. 12 parts, all of which could be freely assigned to synth, user samples, or inbuilt drum samples

2. vocoder
3. polyphonic
4. sixteen knobs above the step keys as a motion sequencer
(a real quick way to edit levels of anything on each step)
5. cheap card storage
6. better reverb
7. maybe 4 effects?
9. nice silver or white casing with wood sides (no crazy colors)
10. a "nudge" feature, which would allow you to nudge the timing on each step forward or backwards (per part)
11. a boss editor
12. programmable arp rhythms
13. full ASDR envelope

that's about all I want.

can you imagine?

something like this would keep me occupied for the next 20 years

Endless encoders

Effect send amount (instead of just on/off)

The ability to switch patterns per part and the option to carry mute settings to the next pattern.

User patches/kits

More outputs - like 8 minimum and perhaps the option of an add on external box of 16-24 outs for each part - high quality converters etc

Mastering channel and effects

EQ for each part - or filters at least - more filter models.

whammy bar maybe - wouldnt surprise me actually!

modular style routing option.....

3xlfo

adsr - routing options again

smart loop sampling/sampling

ableton style recording from patterns to session

also a VGA output would be sweet, to hook up a computer moniter and mouse to edit arrangments.

Your Ideas are great but I would buy it if it had your #3,11, and 13 ideas. I'm sure they will put in an editor, but I'm not sure about the Polyphonic and ASDR.
The card is a no brainer, the only reason smart media is expensive is because it is obsolete.

Hmm, well def polyphonic more oscillators and overall a better synth engine....keep the valves...love them...yeh i spose some vocoding action wouldn't go astray more individual outs so i can send individual parts out and process stuff externaly if i should want to.!!, which brings me to my next point better effects....(convoluded reverb), and a cple of extra dials for more controlls of effects, love the ribbon controller keep that but yeh, your right being able to program your own arp patches some sort of RPPR setting on the triton would be good

ok dudes, I'd hate to be rude... again.... about the same subject.... again.....

but....

There's no need to continue this... there's already a six page post just like this...

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... +electribe

and yet another one...
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... e+features

this is only the recent ones.. If I start digging, there are plenty more.

stop it!

Unless my next electribe comes with a rocket launcher, a beer can holder and a hooker, we don't need to keep asking the same stuff. Maybe throw in a fly swatter so I can smack the next person to list the features they want...  :D

damn, that linndrum looks rad! $1800 thou...no doubt worth it but I can't really justify that kind of outlay. Maybe in 5 years I can afford a used one.

what I would REALLY like to see is some kind of box that is a hardware sequencer + upgradeable software plug-ins, so you could add different filters, oscillators, effects, etc.. like 8 nord modulers and an MMT-8 with a buncha knobs all in one box that costs $500.
