ER-1 Bass Drum on Radias?

Hi,
I've been trying to get that ER-1 Bass Drum sound out of my Radias for awhile. I know that there are some ER-1 drum patches but I am more interested in how to re-create that two knob set up (Decay and Pitch) I make Bass music that uses a long decay and pitch motion on the Bass Drum for the Bass line. I have owned an ER-1, but I can't control it because it uses NRPNs instead of CC#s. I saw that some Bass Drum patches use the filter self oscillating as the sound source. Is this the way to go to get that Synth Drum sound. How does this differ from using a sine wave and pitch modulation? Any suggestions for the BOOM would be greatly appreciated.
