What exactly does the Hold 10's function do?

I have it on my TR, and it works so that when I switch program/combi up and down, it goes by tens, so I know it DOES, but what is it useful for? On another thread, can't remember for what gear, someone suggested that it is very useful live...howso?

The Hold 10's button allows you to use the Key pad to jump to any sound in the bank of ten your at.

For example, if you have sound 001 selected and the Hold 10's button pressed, you can jump to any sound between 000 and 009 with a single press of the key pad buttons.

No need to enter in full numbers like, 009. You just press 9.

For live use this gives seriously quick access to sounds.
