THanks in advance.

Just tried out the Radias as a surface controller; fairly simple to assign one of its knobs to a VST soft synth in sonar.....however, is there a way to have it operate JUST as a controller? I.e., have the controls bypass the Radias itself?

If using all four timbres in a program, no.

If a Radias program uses less than 4 timbres, simply select an unused timbre and start twisting knobs.

I've tried it, the knobs affect the selected timbre even when in local off.

It's hardly a knock on the Radias, the only synth I know that can do that is the Novation xioSynth which has a mode where the local controls route to MIDI OUT while the internal sound engine responds only to MIDI IN.

That is exactly what "local off" means......
Tons of synths do exactly what you describe .....
midi out/ on/
local /off
midi /enable
Time Can be Mastered,
"NOW" is the Password....
Currently running, Hammond M3, Yamaha CS80 + MM6, Roland JX-3P + Mkb 1000 + Vk7 + D110, Alesis Quadrasynth plus, Haken Continuum fingerboard, Korg Radias + Lambda, Ensoniq SQ80, Waldorf Blofeld, Creamware Prodyssey + B4000, Use Audio Plugiator, Arp Axxe ....and some soft synths.

Local off refers to keys and controllers (wheels and pedals) only.

From the Sound on Sound review of the xioSynth:

The Xiosynth can be used in two distinct modes. In Synth mode, it works as an eight-voice polyphonic, monotimbral synthesizer. In Play mode, it works as a flexible MIDI controller, very much like the Remote LE. In addition to the basic Play and Synth modes, the Xiosynth also has a couple of 'hybrid' modes, which allow you make more selective use of its MIDI control and synthesis capabilities. For example, you might choose to use the keyboard and joystick to control the internal synth, while using the Xiosynth's knobs, buttons and touchpad to control MIDI software or external hardware. Or you could set the internal synth to be triggered by data from a MIDI sequencer, while using the Xiosynth's knobs and buttons to control other external parameters.

Anyway, as far as the Radias is concerned the knobs are always active for the currently selected timbre.

Hello,
But is it possible to control (via MIDI) the leds corresponding to each button ?
Thanx in advance

Not sure what you mean.

Almost every control on the Radias sends out and responds to a CC (a few use NRPNs or sys-ex). So in that sense you can turn the LEDs on and off via MIDI but you'll also be changing the sound!!!

Thanx, I'll try to investigate further.
Actually, I'd like to use the Radias as input for a analog-style sequencer under FL-Studio.
