Problem with update operative system, please help!

Post by mikael »

I have problem with updating the operative system!

I do the following according to instructions:

1) Insert the USB storage device containing the [M3SYS] folder.
2) Turn the M3's power ON.
3) Select GLOBAL mode and execute the command "Update System Software" from the upper RH Page menu.

After I have done this the display says:
Note: The message of "File/path not found"

I have tried 3 different USB devices (fat 32 formatted)
and nothing is happening always the same "File/path not found"

please could anyone help, I do not understand what to do?

Hello mikael !

1) Insert the USB storage device containing the [M3SYS] folder.

This should be written like this:

1) Insert the USB storage device containing the [M3SYS] folder contents in its root directory.

In other words one should simply copy all the files from [M3SYS] folder into USB stick's root directory.

Hope this will help,

While this may work (I have never tried it), the instructions were correct for me. I just copied the M3SYS folder itself into the root of my USB key and everything worked as expected.

Mikael, was your USB storage device already formatted by the M3? I know that the M3 has problems reading USB devices that it didn't format.

i had the same problem the first time ....

on your computer .... Open the SYS folder .... then load the seperate files that your want onto your USB stick .... the update file , the pcg file , ....
i also did the same thing and just copied the hole folder .... won't work

your M3 won't open them and pick it out ....

i printed out the 6 pages of instructions for loading update/sounds ...

look into it some more ... it is really worth the trouble ..!! the new sounds are great ..!!! once you've done it a few times , it'll be a piece of cake ...!!!

keep at it ..!

THANK YOU THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL YOUR ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem was the USB stick. I tried 3 different with no result..... after that I took my CAMERA XD 64mb card and put it there and took a san disk reader (all camera cards and mobile cards redaer with a USB contact to put it to your computer). I plug ut into the M3 and it works.

So it was the USB stick !

Thank you so much for all answers!!!!
