Update operative system. problem please help!

Post by mikael »

Hello !
I have problem to update operative system and the new sounds..
And I do everything according to instruction:

Installing the new Operating System:
1) Insert the USB storage device containing the [M3SYS] folder.
2) Turn the M3's power ON.
3) Select GLOBAL mode and execute the command "Update System Software" from the upper RH Page menu.

I do all this but it says:
"File/path not found"

I have tried 3 different USB devices (FAT 32), and no result at all??????!?!?!

Please could anyone help me?

A rather stupid question that probably won't do any difference but have you tried downloading the update again? There's a small chance that something went wrong with the download or the unzipping.

If that doesn't work then I would contact support to see if they can help out.

Try to upgrade your system to 1.1.1 before you try to upgrade to 1.2.0

That's right. The folder with the new OS has to be on the top level of your device in order for the M3 to see it. If it's not there then remove it from whatever folder it is in and move it there. That should do the trick!

I have put the M3SYS folder as the only folder in my USB stick and
also without the folder (only with the files inside of the folder.

And I have tried to update a older operative system
but no result???!!??!?

Try to format your USB storage device on M3.

The instructions says that the USB drives should be MS-DOS formatted.
Try formatting the USB drives on your computer, first.
FAT = Drives under 4 Gb
FAT32 = Drives over 4 Gb

Note: The message of "File/path not found" may be displayed when the command is executed.
Execute the install command again in that case.
If the error message "Error in reading from medium" or "Can't update system" is displayed, please redo the copying of the [M3SYS] folder to a USB storage device, making sure to first delete the folder from the USB device, and execute the install command again. If you still do not succeed, please try a different USB storage device, and redo the whole procedure.

I had the same problem the first time, until I reformatted (full) the USB on the M3, then it was cake. I used a PC/XP to copy from the web on to the USB.

BTW, don't forget to back up your old stuff.
