M3 Vibrato Flute

Post by Matteo »

Hello guys,
The last years I had a triton extreme, and now I am a glad M3's user!!

But after some tests, I hear the colossal difference of Vibrato Flute between the Triton Extreme and the M3, because is more beautiful the Real Flute of Triton Extreme!

How it is possible?? I've noted that the oasys have the same patch (and the same sound) of the Real Flute of Triton Extreme, it's very GREATE!!! But not into the M3, that is a great successor of triton!

Thanks for your constant support!!

Matteo.

I'm a little confused. You like the flute better in the Extreme and wonder why the M-3 is not better since it is the successor to the Extreme? :?

M3's A10 Vibrato flute is nice

True, the Extreme has several more flutes.

Let's see if Matteo can explain better

Sorry for my bad english, but I'm Italian.

I say that the Triton Extreme's Flute (so very similar at the Oasys) is BETTER than M3.

I'm very surprised about the low quality of Vibrato Flute (in the Triton Extreme named Real Flute) in the M3, especially because the M3 is a successor of the Triton Extreme, so the sound should have to improve, NOT degenerate.

I think that it's a matter of taste if a sound is good or not... anyway I think that you can tweak the m3 flute to create something that works well like the extreme flute...

I think thats accurate.

The Extreme gives one a nice variety of flutes

The M3 flute is perfectly ok and with a little effort with FX , etc, one can arrive at denser, more complex flute Program similar to the Extreme

When I first got my M3, and began working with the it, I felt that many sounds were not to my taste, so I began editing the program parameters, to see what I can achieve to get them sounding more to my taste, but I did not pay too much attention to the effects, since I thought of them as just "effects" that you would usually add after you have the sound you want to hear.

But, one quite interesting thing I did discover about the M3, is that the effects are a very important part of the overall sound you want to achieve. They are quite an integral part of the synth engine, and should be used to sculpt your sound during the sound design phase.

I would recommend you begin using the M3's effects, Inserts (IFX), (MFX), and (TFX), and their routings, more like an extention of the M3's synth engine, rather than just effects, this for me has been quite an important discovery.

The Bottom line is : don't ignore the effects, experimenting here is the key !

I hope this is helps.

I think you're referring to one of the flutes from the included sound bank of the EXB Orchestral right? Yes, those flutes are really nice as compared to the stock Triton flutes. So are some of the strings and so forth because those orchestral sounds were from a third party sound developer called Best Service. "Peter Siedlaczek’s Advanced Orchestra” to be exact.

I like to see the big picture of sounds from the M3 or any keyboard for that matter, rather than judge a keyboard for just the flute or piano sounds. But experimentation with editing and programming the heck out of the sounds are also the what we have at our disposal.
We are also not stuck with these internal sounds because we can sample away also!
