Rob, i think its fair for many users...take me for example, i have many synths,
i sold my PA800 and now i have no arranger. I am planing on getting AUDYA
but only for pleasure, just for home and studio.
The other thing is, i see many people in here play and make money with
PA50 just as a drum machine, nothing else, they use other synths for solo.
Now, for me personally the PA800 is a great machine. I'll stuck it up with
styles, i dont need samples in there, get one of my workstations and go play.
And a lot cheeper too...why would i keep PA800 when i wont use sampling
and all of the samples i need i already have ready in another workstation.
The most combination i see in USA especially us orientals and Balkan people
is PA50&LE.

I had a chance to play the PA500 and PA2XPRO yesterday at the NAMM show. The 500 is a very nice keyboard for $1499.00 here in the US. Like the PA50, I can load many middle eastern styles created for the 50 and 80 that didn't require new samples and I can save everything on SD cards. The sounds and styles are from the PA800. The PA2XPRO is being shipped to stores this week and the 500 will be at the end of the month.

I'm sure it will be good for the masses, and I can understand that Korg need an entry of their second generation Pa technology at this price point to compete with all the PSR's in the shops. Let's be clear about what the Pa500 means for the sound creation pros on the forum, though... specifically, what can't you do with a Pa500 that you can do on a Pa800?
The Pa500 apparently has no USER SAMPLE capability. There is no USER SAMPLE RAM. Therefore you can not load any Pa800 USER SOUNDS that use USER SAMPLES. You can not load any USER STYLES that depend on USER SOUNDS that in turn depend on USER SAMPLES.
Just so long as this is what you want! I will bide my time to get a Pa2x or Pa800 once the next OS is released.
Meanwhile it seems that a "Style Compatibility" coversion tool will be even more badly needed
Mick - are you listening?

Hi Nedim,
are they finally releasing it??
I first heard about it in April 2007, Ketron seem to anounce stuff early , & then it can take a year or more before the product actually becomes available.
I sure hope they've updated some of the functions from their prior top of the line model the sd1+.
SD1 lacks some real basics when it comes to style creation/editing. No event list editing, no way of exporting & importing style parts as midifile except for using EMC, & that method has it's limitations also..
As for the midi, it was archaic.
The audio loop functions sound like they're going to be pretty amazing on the Audya . I haven't seen any specific details on it yet though.
