HELP...can you change JINGLE BELLS Pad HIT to a Pad SEQUENCE
so that it will repeat and follow the style like a sequence..
For example I use a SWING BALLAD 2 style for "WHITE CHRISTMAS"
& I would like the Jingle Bell pad to play as a repeatable sequence instead of just the one time HIT? To give a Christmas feel to the song on the PA800.
any help appreciated

Hi Donny,
you'd literally have to record a sequence.
I just checked my psr1500, it has a couple of sets of xmas sequence pads.
Some of them might adapt ok to the to the pa800. I'll let you know if it works.
best wishes
Rikki

Hi Raul & Donny,
unfortunately that will still only give you a single"jingle" at the beginning of each bar, ( unless that's the effect you're after) not a jingling rhythm thruought the bar like the psr xmas pad does.
The Jingle pad in the PA800 is a "single hit" pad, wheras the psr pad is a sequenced pad with a rhythm.

Rikki & All.....I want the pa800 Jingle Pad to continue playing like "sequence pads do" Thruout the BAR just like the Psr Jingle pad repeatedly.....Is this possible? or do you have to actually Record it that way & then can you assign it to the sequence user pads?
Im getting confused.

Hi Donny,
if you want a pad like the psr jingle sequence pad it has to be recorded that way, as a sequence.
Yes, definately possible.
Pads can be recorded in realtime, similar to recording a style track.
Pads can be recorded in steptime.
Pads can also be created from copying onboard styletracks
Pads can be created on a pc sequencer & imported as midifiles.
That's how I did my psr jingle pad to PA800 conversion.
Basically I turned the psr pad into a midifile & imported it into the PA as a midifile & created a pad.
I'm working on creating pads from the "Guitar Mode" style tracks that are available in some of the updated styles, that came with the 1.5 upgrade.
Also the possibility of using style tracks from converted styles to create pads.
The possibility for pad creation is mind boggling. That's why I luv this machine.
(Makes me wish I hadn't closed down my Makingstyles group. haahaa)

Hi Donny,
I've sent the pad.
The process is "Import SMF" page 140 of the original manual.
Bear in mind if recording on an external sequencer or using a track from a midifile created from just say a psr style,
make sure you have only a single track
also make sure you set it to channel 10 whether it's a drum track a guitar track or whatever,
it also has to be saved as midifile 0,
ThePA800 won't load it if you don't do the above.
PSR styles should be a fairly good source for creating pads. Avoid styles that use megavoices. PSR styles are based on maj7 chords which should work really well with the PA.
It's as simple as changing the .sty extension into mid, which turns it into a midifile. Loading it into a sequencer , deleting all the unwanted tracks, choose the part of the track you want to use, cut it down to 4 bars or so change the channel to 10, save as midifile 0 , and do the import smf conversion. to pad in the pa800.
I've used this method with some guitar & bass tracks from one of my psr beguine styles.
I'll probably upload them to one of the style forums including some step by step instructions on how I did them. The hard part will be the instructions haahaa.
Please let me know if you still don't get the pad, my emails must be getting lost.
